We say this to all of our clients... SEO takes time (and a lot of effort).

But that's not to say you can't improve your site's ranking on Google within a few weeks or months.

Even if you don't immediately skyrocket to the top of a search, consistent small improvements will not only be recognized by the algorithm, but they will also enhance the overall customer experience on your website.

Understandably, many business owners don't have the time to meticulously plan their SEO strategy and then act on it weekly. In reality, it often takes years of being in business to achieve a top 3 (or even first page) result on Google for a competitive keyword or search term.

However, no need to fear. Today, we'll be giving you three quick tips that will help your websites visibility on Google, while also improving the site's experience in general.

1. Optimize Page Titles + Meta Descriptions

Most websites overlook the importance of optimized page titles and meta descriptions, often leaving them blank or using default settings.

This is a missed opportunity for better rankings because Google’s algorithm favors pages that have titles and descriptions that accurately match the page content. It’s also crucial to keep these elements within Google's recommended character limits—typically 50-60 characters for titles and around 155 for descriptions.

Properly optimizing these helps search engines and potential visitors understand what your page is about, ultimately leading to higher click-through rates. This can usually be easily done by going into the backend of your website and looking into each page's SEO settings.

2. Use Header Tags (The Right Way)

Many websites make the mistake of using H1 tags for everything, regardless of importance.

This can confuse search engines, which rely on header tags to understand the structure and hierarchy of your content.

H1 tags should be reserved for the main title or the most critical piece of information on the page, while H2 and H3 tags can be used for subheadings.

Correctly organizing your headers not only improves readability for your audience but also helps Google better index your content.

When writing and posting your content on your website, be sure to check which header tags you are using! You can always switch this later when refreshing your content.

3. Utilize Internal Linking

Websites with more than one page should take advantage of internal linking to guide users and search engines through their content.

Content is king, especially when it’s informative and spread across multiple pages. Internal links help search engines understand the relationship between your pages, boosting overall SEO.

However, be mindful not to overdo it—spamming internal links can harm your rankings. Instead, link to relevant pages naturally and in a way that enhances the user experience.
